Two new staff members have been employed by the HSE to carry out assessments of need in Clare.
Responding to a query from Shannonbanks Sinn Féin Councillor James Ryan in the newly-formed Regional Health Forum Midwest, HSE Midwest has confirmed two individuals have been hired to expedite the process.

Recent figures showed just 25 assessments of need were completed in the county over a nine-month period last year while 73 children remained on the waiting list.
Councillor Ryan believes far more staff are needed to prevent children being “left in limbo”.
