West Clare Councillor Says More Uptake Needed On Grants To Refurbish Properties

A West Clare Councillor says more advantage needs to be taken of Government grants to refurbish vacant properties and bring them back into use.

New data from the Central Statistics Office shows more than one in ten houses in the Kilrush electoral area are vacant.

That figure stands at 8.3 percent of dwellings in North Clare and 7.5 percent in the East of the county, but drops to around 3 percent in both Ennis and Shannon.
