Rising Rents Push Ennis Closer To Becoming Designated Rent Pressure Zone

The Junior Housing Minister says rents in Ennis are now close to levels required for the town to be designated a rent pressure zone.

Under new legislation, rent increases are capped at 2% a year in RPZs, but so far there are none in this county, which means that while the cost of renting can only increase once every two years, there’s no limit on increases.

That’s despite an 18% rise in the monthly cost of renting a home in this county in the past year.
