Clare Median House Price Falls For The First Time In A Year

The median price of a house in Clare has fallen for the first time in the space of a year.

The latest quarterly report from myhome.ie, which is the second such report in a week, shows that over 290 properties were listed on the market here between July and September.

In this case the median refers to the middle point of prices sought for a dwelling between the least and most expensive.

According to Myhome.ie’s listings over the last three months, this figure has fallen for the first time in a year in Clare to €247,000, representing a drop of just 1.2%.

Clare also happened to be one just six counties to see a reduction in four bed semi-detached units during the quarter, which decreased by 2.2% to €245,000.

At the highest point between July and September just 293 properties were available for sale, which was down from the 304 available from April to June.

The lesser supply was apparent in Clare’s portfolio, with the asking price for a three-bedroom apartment, increasing by 1.9%.

The greatest jump came in the way of two-bed apartment’s however , rising by 3.5% to €150,000, comparatively this sum could have purchased a four-bed unit in Longford.

The analysis also shows that the average time for a property to go from for sale to sale agreed in Clare now stands at just four months.
