February saw the lowest number of homes sold in Clare in 14 years.
It came in a month when the average price of a house here rose to almost €326,000.
A total of 37 residential property transactions were completed in Clare in February according to the Central Statistics Office.
This indicates a 41% drop from the same month last year and represents the lowest level of house sales in the county since May 2012.
The value of sales in the month in question came to €12.4 million which was the smallest monthly figure since June of 2020.
The average price paid for a home in Clare in February was €326,000.
This was up 20% on the same month last year and was the second-highest figure for any month on record.
The most expensive homes are in the Ennis area where the median price tag is €330,000, followed by Shannon with €310,000, and Kilrush where €215,000 is the average.
