The average house in Clare will now set you back €185,000 – some 54% above the lowest ever price in this county.
A new report from property website Daft.ie shows that we’re ending the decade with a return to falling house prices, for the first time since 2012.
Nationally, the average home costs just over €250,000, meaning Clare is still well below that, though that figure is driven by the cities.
Here, you can expect to pay €129,000 for the average three-bed semi-detached house, while a four-bed bungalow can fetch in the region of €256,000.
Author of the report Ronan Lyons says we’re finally achieving a balance between newly built owner-occupied housing and the number of households able to buy them.
