Hospital staff express grave fears for Ennis General

 

Staff at Ennis General Hospital have expressed grave fears for the future of local hospital services and say the local A and E is soon to become a nurse led minor injuries clinic.

Nurses and some local doctors have joined forces with hospital campaigners to call a public protest meeting in Ennis this Friday night in a bid to stop the closure of acute medical facilities, and some psychiatric services.

The HSE hasn’t confirmed the closures but staff representatives at Ennis General have told Clare FM they’ve been informed the cuts will take place from March 1st in meetings with the consultant leading reconfiguration in the mid-west.
