Hopes Kilkee Waterworld Could Keep Doors Open Eight Months A Year After Refurbishments

A major refurbishment project at Kilkee Waterworld could result in the facility being open for up to eight months of the year.

The popular West Clare leisure amenity closed its doors in August 2022 to allow for upgrade works to begin and management have confirmed that it’s on track to reopen in May of next year.

Among the project’s infrastructural advancements are the installation of a new roof, insulation, new windows and doors, as well as high-efficiency air handling and heating systems.

Kilkee Fianna Fáil Councillor Cillian Murphy, who’s also on the board for Kilkee Waterworld, believes the energy efficiency achieved by the works will enable the facility to keep its doors open for a much longer period.
