It’s hoped that post office services in Lissycasey can be saved by moving the local branch into the village shop when the existing one closes.
Hundreds of people packed into Lissycasey Community Hall last night to have their say on why the branch should be kept open.
It’s one of six communities in Clare where the post office is set to close following exit packages offered by An Post and a committee has now been set up to spearhead a movement to save their branch.
One of the options being floated by locals in Lissycasey to An Post is to relocate it to Talty’s Store in the centre of the village – a move supported by the retiring post mistress Mary Hanrahan.
