History has been made in the chamber of Clare County Council.
Fine Gael Councillor Paul Murphy has been elected Mayor of Clare at a ceremony in Áras Chontae An Chláír this afternoon, becoming the first Clarecastle man to hold the position in the 126 year history of the council.

He will serve as Cathaoirleach for the 2025-26 term, taking over from Fianna Fáil’s Alan O’Callaghan.
Ennis Fianna Fáil Cllr Clare Colleran-Molloy will serve as Leas Cathaoirleach.
