Senior management within the UL Hospitals Group are to appear before the Oireachtas Health Committee this morning.
The delegation is to be questioned by committee members on the contents of a damning HIQA report, published in June, which suggested University Hospital Limerick was failing to provide ‘dignity’ or ‘privacy’ to its patients at the time it was inspected.
The report claimed UHL is understaffed, with a number of patients waiting more than 70 hours plus in the emergency department for a bed.
Meelick-based Fianna Fail Deputy Cathal Crowe, who’s a member of the Committee, says it’s time for questions to be answered.
