Health Minister to sign off on hospital re-organisation

The current status of emergency care at Ennis General isn’t expected to change when the Cabinet sign off on the re-organisation of the country’s hospitals today.

Health Minister James Reilly says the move will be the biggest reform of the hospital system since the foundation of the state.

It will see them officially operating under six groups – cementing the current set up in the Mid West, with  Limerick Regional as the main provider of acute emergency and medical care.
