Government Warned Public Is Losing Confidence In Gardaí

The government’s being warned that the public is losing confidence in the Gardaí as a result of repeated scandals.

It was revealed yesterday that officers recorded one and a half million breath tests in Pulse which never took place.

Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan says that sanctions will follow where appropriate but the Taoiseach indicated last night that Nóirín O’Sullivan won’t be asked to step down as Garda Commissioner.
