A Clare Government TD says ongoing difficulties for South East Clare homeowners in obtaining house insurance are ‘farcical’.
It’s believed thousands of households along the River Shannon in the Meelick and Parteen areas have had difficulty obtaining cover since floods back in 2009.

Members of the Oireachtas are currently debating the Competition Bill, which could give more power to independent bodies such as ComReg to challenge anti-competitive practices.
