Government To Fund Minimum Wage Hikes For Community Groups

The government has announced funding supports for seven Clare organisations to help them cover the increased costs associated with the minimum wage.

The decision to hike the minimum wage to €9.80 means the groups are facing increased staffing costs this year.

To defray this, the Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael RTing has announced funding for 263 organisations nationally, supporting 980 full-time staff.

In Clare, money is to be paid to Burren Display Centre, East Clare Community Co-Op, Kilrush Amenity Trust, Lisdoonvarna Fáilte, Michael Cusack Development Company, South West Clare Community Radio and West Clare Family Resource Centre.
