Proposals to extend US Pre-clearance at Shannon and Dublin Airports has been approved by the government.
In 2009, Shannon became the first Airport outside of the Americas to secure pre-clearance facilities, with Dublin following later.

Last year, 1.7 million passengers used the service.
The changes agreed by government would enhance the services at both airports and introduce more flexibility, but it will see the Airports pay more of the costs of pre-clearance.
