Golf legend Christy O’Connor JR dies

Well-known Irish golfing legend Christy O'Connor Junior has died at the age of 67.

The Galway native won four competitions on the European Tour and came in the top five at the British Open on three occasions.

He also represented Europe at the Ryder Cup on two occasions, and also claimed two Senior British Open titles.

O'Connor was also well-known as a golf course designer and remained active in fundraising for his native Galway Bay Golf Club, while he was also a member of Lahinch Golf Club.
