Garvey And Greens Call For Water To Be Recognised As A Human Right

Clare’s Green Party Senator has brought a motion before the Seanad asking for water to be recognised as a human right.

Inagh-based Senator Roisin Garvey wants to see the State provide for safe water treatment and distribution through systems in either public or community ownership.

Rural parts of this county, particularly in West Clare, have dealt with a number of lengthy water outages over the past number of years.
