Front-line Gardaí are urging members of the public to stand up for their local station.
The Garda Representative Association – which is holding its annual conference in Athlone in Westmeath – is appealing to the Government not to extend the list of closures.

The GRA General Secretary is also calling on the Garda Commissioner to stop putting forward proposals to shut down rural offices following the end of services at 39 stations including Carrigaholt last month.
