Gardaí have seized a further two vehicles without insurance in Clare through the use of new technology.
During a routine checkpoint in Kilkishen, the roads policing unit stopped two cars which triggered alerts on Garda mobility phones.

The mobility phones use automatic number plate recognition, which enable Gardaí to determine from the roadside whether a driver is insured or named on the policy or if a policy has been cancelled.
Following the operation a Mark 2 Ford Focus hatchback and a Skoda Estate were seized – both drivers will face court at a later date.
