Gardaí have launched an investigation after the death of a man in Limerick overnight.
The man was found with stab wounds at about half past midnight.

It’s understood the ambulance service alerted Gardaí after the man was found on steps outside a house on Lenehan avenue in the city.
The man in his 40’s had been stabbed.
He was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital, and a post mortem will be carried out on his remains later.
The area where he was found has been sealed off and a team from the Garda Technical Bureau is expected to carry out a forensic examination of the scene.
