A blaze broke out in a shed at the back of a house in Cronin Park in Shannon at around quarter to three in the morning, and the intense heat led to windows shattering.

Crews from Clare County Fire Service brought the blaze under control preventing the fire from spreading to a nearby house and extension and the scene was sealed off to facilitate a Garda forensic examination.

GardaĆ say they are working to establish the cause of the fires and are appealing to anyone with information on the incident to contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365 900. or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
