Galway RNLI were today called to assist five people stranded off the North Clare coast.
Shortly after 12 midday the crew were alerted to a broken down rigid inflatable boat (RIB) halfway between Blackhead and Ballyvaughan, Co Clare.

While the lifeboat made their way to the broken down craft, the RIB had in the meantime been taken under tow by another boat in the area.
The lifeboat crew assessed the situation and escorted the two boats into Ballyvaughan Bay where they were able to get back to shore safely.
