The event, which has been held at Ballybrit since 1869, will see 800 horses run in 52 races over the 7-days.
The festival, which is worth an estimated 54 million euro to the local economy, employs 1-thousand 5-hundred staff members.
When it comes to food, the event sees 70-thousand meals served, one tonne of chips sold, and 4-thousand hot beef rolls eaten.
General Manager at Galway Racecourse Michael Maloney, says he and his team began working on this year's festival almost as soon as last year's ended.
