Free Christmas Tree Recycling Launched In Clare

As more and more people take their decorations down, Clare County Council is giving people the opportunity to offload their Christmas Tree, while playing their part for the environment.

People can bring real trees to designated recycling centres across the county for free, until January 26th, after which they’ll be shredded, composted and used as bedding in various outdoor projects countywide.

Christmas trees must only be deposited at the 5 approved locations in Kilkee, Scariff, Shannon Ennis and Inagh and people are being asked not to deposit trees at any other location as they won’t be collected.

Environmental Awareness Officer Karen FOley is urging people to make use of the service.
