A former Clare resident living on the Poland-Ukraine border has expressed concerns Vladimir Putin is testing the waters for a potential invasion of Poland.
It follows an incursion of 19 Russian drones into Polish airspace last week, sparking NATO to deploy greater resources to the country’s eastern flank.
Marcin Piotrowski is a sociologist and journalist, who previously lived in Ennis, and founded the Folkowisko Humanitarian Foundation, which has helped deliver thousands of tons of humanitarian aid since the early days of the conflict.
He’s told Clare FM’s Morning Focus the experience of drones flying overhead was terrifying and believes Putin considers Poland should be rightfully under the control of the Kremlin.
