Five Clare Schools Selected For Safe Routes To School Programme

Five Clare schools have been selected for inclusion in the Government’s Safe Routes To School Programme.

The scheme, worth an initial 15 million euro, aims to create safer walking and cycling routes within communities and alleviate congestion at the school gates.

St Flannan’s N.S, Inagh, Gaelscoil Mhíchíl Cíosóg, Ennis, the Holy Family Junior School, Ennis, Holy Family Senior NS, Ennis and Clonmoney National School, Newmarket-on-Fergus will take part in the first round of the programme.

It’s understood more schools who have applied will be added to the programme on a rolling basis as delivery plans are implemented.
