A protest is due to take place in Knockalisheen, Meelick this morning in opposition to the possible closure of the veterinary lab there.
A Review Group from the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine is visiting the Mid-West Regional Veterinary Lab this morning, following which a decision will be made on whether the lab can stay open.

The Group will be met by members of The Irish Creamery Milk Supplier Association, who claim the loss would be a “serious blow” to the region.
The ICMSA believes that farmers from Clare will be forced to travel to Athlone or Cork to find an alternative laboratory
