The family of sporting legend Anthony Foley have extended their thanks to friends and rugby supporters at home and abroad, for their outpouring of support and sympathy.

In a statement to Clare FM, the family say they have lost an "adoring and loving father and husband; an equally caring, loyal and devoted son and brother" and a go-to figure for the wider Foley and Hogan families".
It goes on to says that their "anguish at the sudden loss of Anthony is bottomless" and that they have been "plunged deep into an incomprehensible darkness and sense of loss" that they must "work their way through" over the coming years.
