Fall In Supply One Of Main Drivers Behind Clare’s Surge In Land Prices

Clare recorded the highest increase in agricultural land prices in the country.

Figures contained in the Irish Farmers Journal’s annual land price report, which has just been published, reveals that the number of farms put up for sale in the county rose to 16, up from 12 the year before.

Ten of the farms sold, with the average price standing at €11,265 per acre in 2021, representing a 94% surge, with business buyers to the fore purchasing two thirds of the farm holdings sold.
