Electric Vehicles and Hybrids accounted for 68% of all car sales in Clare last month.
New figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show 130 vehicles were sold here in May.

Of those 47 were fully electric and 42 were hybrids, 24 had Petrol engines and just 17 were Diesel, which is down 83% on the figure recorded a decade ago.
SIMI Director of Operations Emma Mitchell says the demand is consumer driven.
