Ennistymon Locals Claim Blake’s Corner Traffic Lights Haven’t Eased Congestion

Locals in Ennistymon claim traffic calming measures at Blake’s Corner have not been successful so far.

Traffic lights have been installed on a trial basis at the notorious traffic blackspot, after protests to highlight the extent of delays caused by the tight corner on the route to Lahinch.

The lights are a short term measure, with plans to build an inner relief road and bridge in the town in the future.

This past weekend was the first which saw the lights in place – publican Joe McInerney of the ‘Lets Get Ennistymon Moving’ group says they didn’t alleviate congestion.
