An Ennis retailer is asking the Government to help businesses to help employees in the budget.
The Low Pay Commission is expected to recommend an increase of 5% to the National Minimum Wage in Budget 2026, bringing it from €13.50 to €14.17 an hour.

Since January 2020, the rate has risen by 38%.
Managing Director of the County Boutique, Gwen Culligan, says businesses must be assisted if they’re to be expected to boost employees’ wages.
