An Ennis Councillor is expressing his full support for the development of a new hospital on a greenfield site at St. Flannan’s College.

The Bishop of Killaloe has confirmed the diocese intends to press ahead with the sale of the site at the Ennis school despite objection by staff at the school.

The lands will be used by the HSE to develop a €25m 100-bed Community Nursing Unit to replace existing bed capacity at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town.
