An Ennis-based solicitor believes a wider debate on medical disclosures to employers will ensue as a result of COVID-19 vaccination uptakes.

It comes as a ruling by the Data Protection Commissioner that vaccination may be considered as ‘a necessary safety measure’ in certain situations, including frontline health services.

The HSE is now planning to write to staff indicating that it may seek information about employees’ vaccination status as part of assessing risk to patients.
