Ennis Based President Of Irish Road Hauliers Says Government Must Keep Sector Costs Under Continuous Review

The Clare based President Of The Irish Road Hauliers Association says costs affecting the sector need to be kept under continuous review by government.

It comes as €18 million in funding has formally been made available this week by the Department Of Transport under the 2023 Licence Haulage Scheme to help mitigate rising costs in the industry .

The initiative will see successful applicants entitled to a maximum grant of €1,200 per truck in their fleet to tackle increases in operating costs.

Welcoming the scheme Ennis native & President Of The Irish Road Hauliers Association, Eugene Drennan predicts that top up funding will soon be required.
