Ennis-based Diabetes Campaigner Says Midwest Services For Disease Are ‘Shameful’

An Ennis-based diabetes awareness campaigner says services available to those in Clare with the disease are ‘shameful’.

Grainne Flynn has made the decision to go to Galway for care as she feels local services are now inadequate for her needs.

A spokesman for the UL Hospitals’ Group acknowledged there is currently one whole time equivalent Consultant Endocrinologist in the UL Hospitals’ Group – who has a commitment to Ennis Hospital one day a month.
