The Energy Minister is hailing the contribution of Ardnacrusha Power Station to Ireland’s economy and says it’s still a “very important part” of the energy network.
Fianna Fáil Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment Darragh O’Brien is at the south-east Clare facility today for the ‘Electrifying Ireland: A Shared Vision for the Future’ conference.

Ardnacrusha was Ireland’s first hydroelectric station and remains its largest river hydro scheme.
Minister O’Brien has been telling Clare FM’s Seán Lyons it’s a success story that can be learned from as the country moves towards renewables.
