A Shannon school is among the top in the country in terms of progression rates to third level education.
St Caimin’s Secondary School was one of two Clare schools which saw more of its graduates attend college from September than had sat the Leaving Cert this summer.
The Irish Times feeder school tables for 2019 reveal a unique insight into education in the Banner County.
St Caimin’s in Shannon came out top in Clare and was also was of the best in the country, with its 103% progression rate for 2019.
In all, 95 pupils sat their Leaving Cert this year, with 98 college places offered – this could mean those who deferred a place in 2018 and this year took up their course offer.
Elsewhere, St Joseph’s Secondary School in Tulla had a progression rate of 101%, while St Joseph’s Spanish Point and Coláiste Muire Ennis had rates of 98 and 97% respectively.
