UPS says it will endeavour to redeploy as many of the employees as possible.

Statement from UPS

As part of our ongoing efforts to better position the business for the future, UPS in Ireland is re-designing its internal processes and re-aligning its overall structure to increase efficiency and improve responsiveness to customers.

UPS can confirm that these initiatives will result in changes in the roles and responsibilities of 8 employees in non-operational functions working out of our Shannon branch, potentially including redundancies.

We anticipate the process changes to be implemented by the end of the year. Our intention is to, wherever possible, retain the depth of knowledge and experience of our people, and the company will endeavor to redeploy as many employees as it can.
