Over 7,500 People Now Claiming Pandemic Unemployment Payment In Clare

There are now more than seven and a half thousand people claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment in Clare.

7,513 people have received the payment this morning in this county – with over 2,000 people here turning to the government support since level five restrictions came into force last month.

They’re among over 352,000 people across the country who are now in receipt of PUP support.

69 people in Clare have returned to work in the last seven days in spite of the restrictions.

An additional 47 people have been certified for the Enhanced Illness Benefit payment here over the last seven days – meaning they have either tested positive for COVID-19 or are being forced to self-isolate.
