Economic Recovery Slowing Down

The recovery in the economy is slowing down – with consumer spending fairly flat in the third quarter.

The CSO's Quarterly National Household Survey shows that there was growth in July, August and September – with GDP of 0.1 percent.

When multinationals, who largely export their profits, are excluded, the total value of goods and services produced in Ireland, the GNP – stood at zero point five percent.

However year on year the figures are much better, with GDP up 3.5 percent on the same period in 2013.
