An East Clare Tidy Towns group fears a recent spate of illegal dumping could cost the area honours in this year’s awards.
A large mound of rubbish was identified on the outskirts of Kilkishen last Thursday evening.

Three days later on Sunday morning, there was a report of a number of discarded items on fire in a nearby location.
Olivia King of Kilkishen Tidy Towns says it’s beyond what volunteers can be expected to deal with.
