East Clare communities have been told to look forward to a “more secure and reliable” water supply following the completion of upgrade works.
Uisce Éireann has finished the operation on the L70361 O’Brien’s Bridge, the Killaloe Road and Ardnataggle, which involved replacing over one kilometre of aged water mains and new pipes.
Ward and Burke Construction carried out the works which were delivered on behalf of Uisce Éireann as part of the national Leakage Reduction Programme.
Programme Manager with Uisce Éireann Jack Cronin says by replacing the old water mains, they will “ensure a more sustainable water supply, eliminate existing leaks and significantly reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground protecting our most precious resource”.
