Over €4 million in funding has been announced for housing adaptation grants for older people as well as those living with disabilities.
The Department of Housing has confirmed that €129.5 million has been made available to enable these groups to live independently in their own homes.

Clare has been allocated €4.1 million, with €3.5 million coming from the State and the remainder provided by Clare County Council.
Under the scheme, grants of up to €40,000 can be availed of by disabled people to carry out works on their homes while older people can access €10,700 for this purpose and funding of €8,000 can be awarded for mobility aids.
