Over €280,000 in funding has been allocated for outdoor adventure projects in Clare.
The major investment comes under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme and aims to support outdoor pursuits such as hiking, mountaineering, kayaking, swimming and cycling.
€56,500 will go towards developing a timber boardwalk at Gortnamearacaun, Ballinruan Bog Walk and €50,000 will be given to facilitate the Ballyalla Lake Amenity Enhancement Plan.
The largest portion of the funding will be given to Newmarket on Fergus walking trail, with €180,000 to be spent on the development of an educational, accessible looped walking trail along Lough Gash turlough via O’Regan Park trails.
