The development of Doolin Pier has been hit by another major delay.
An Bord Pleanála has ruled that Clare County Council must carry out a Environmental Impact Study before it can proceed with any works on the 6 million euro project.

It was given the green light by the local authority in March, however local suffers appealed the decision
There are fears Clare County Council may now be forced to submit a totally new application and if it requires a new wave model, it could delay work by another 12 months.
Clare Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway feels the ruling was unjust given what he says was the extensive environmental considerations the local authority took into account, prior to submitting the original application.
