Dog Owners Warned Of Poison Being Laid In O’Briensbridge Area

Clare’s County Dog Warden is warning owners in the O’Briensbridge area to keep their pet on a lead when out walking.

It follows reports of another dog dying after ingesting poison along the banks of the river.

Frankie Coote says there has been hundreds of sheep killed in the area over the past 30 years, with 42 killed by two dogs in one instance.

He says horrendous things are happening in the area and he’s warning farmers that it is illegal to put poison down.
