An Ennis developer has been given additional time to complete a major housing development in East Clare.
Keogh Homes Limited now has until next September to put the finishing touches to a housing estate of over 40 homes in Tulla.
The developer was granted planning permission for a housing development at Carraig Nua in Bunavory in Tulla in June of 2020.
In January 2023, it was given the green light to alter the designs of 31 units in the project.
With construction well underway, Keogh Homes requested an extension of the previously agreed planning period in August of this year.
In its application, it cited delays to the speed of construction owing to the variation and change of design of the 31 dwellings.
Outling its progress, it says 24 units are fully complete and occupied, seven are ready to be handed over to purchasers, eight and roofed with windows complete, and the blockwork is nearly finished with external works “well progressed” on four.
The applicant says “every effort will be made to complete well before the 2nd of September 2026”.
Clare County Council has granted the extension of planning permission without any conditions.
