Decision On National Maternity Hospital A Retrograde Step Says Clare Activist

A Clare-based activist has described the decision on the relocation of the new National Maternity Hospital as a retrograde step.

Cabinet yesterday signed off on the relocation plan, which will see the hospital built on land not owned by the State.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee has said the Government will not oppose a Sinn Fein motion, which is being brought before the Dáil this evening, while two Green TDs, who’ve voiced their opposition to the move have confirmed they will support the motion.
